床の間プロジェクト

床の間。
日本家屋に古来より伝わる空間。
絵や書を掛軸という表現方法で壁に飾り、花を活け、小物を配置する。
訪れた人をもてなすために、美意識を凝縮させ、芸術性を高めた空間。
そして最近は、あまり見かけなくなってしまった空間。
夏になれば涼しげな花瓶で花を活け、冬が来れば雪景色の掛軸を飾る。仏事などの行事にはそれにちなんだ書を選ぶ。
その美意識は表情豊かな日本の四季を表現している。
なくなりつつある、日本の誇れる文化。

わざわざ美しいものを見つめるためだけ、飾るためだけの空間。そういったものが今必要ではないかと感じています。

床の間が持つ精神性を何かの形で継承できたらと思い、新しい掛軸を作りました。それを飾られた場所がどこであれ、床の間を彷彿とさせ、そしてその空間を床の間化（トコノマか）させられるような作品作りをしていきたいと思っています。

私の掛軸は構成が完全なオリジナルですが、掛軸職人さん達に伝統技術で仕立ててもらっています。日本の伝統技術の素晴らしさ、着物生地のユニークなデザイン性や美しさも皆さんにお伝えし、楽しんでもらうことも目的の一つです。

Tokonoma project

Most Japanese houses used to have a space called "Tokonoma" .

It was an artistic space.　People enjoyed displaying their favorite art there.

In "Tokonoma" we enjoy hanging tapestries called "Kakejiku ".

"Kakejiku "means picture and a calligraphy.

We also displaying Japanese flower arrangements and small Japanese items as well.

We change them regularly following the four seasons and special events. 

For example, in the summer,  l enjoy choosing a vase which is made of glass that feels cool.

When we have special events , I display calligraphy,"Kakejiku",with words suitable for it.

"Tokonoma " is one of the things Japanese people can be proud of.

I believe it's necessary for modern people to have a space at home to enjoy beauty of Japanese art .

I want to spread my idea to the whole world.

And I would like to connect with craftsmen and artists who make beautiful  Japanese art.

My craft are very original, but I used traditional methods for my craft and collaborated with some craftsmen.
